Are you having problems with your computer ?
We are based in the Alicante region of Southern Costa Blanca, and cover most of the Southern Costa Blanca.
If you are having issues with your computer you can telephone us, sometimes we can help you resolve the problem over the telephone. If not, we will come over to your residence and have a look at it for you. Sometimes the problem can be resolved immediately, and on other occasions the fault will warrant further investigation.
If this is the case we will take your computer back to our workshop to trace the fault. Once the fault has been traced we will advise on the fault, what the repair involves and the total cost of the repair.
When the repair is complete we will bring the computer back to you.
Types of fault:
Hardware Faults
A hardware fault means that there is a component within your computer that has either failed, or is in the process of failing (intermittent fault). Firstly we will trace the hardware fault, then we will advise you on the best way forward.
The fault you should be most concerned about is total Hard Disk failure !
We always advise our customers to back up all their emails, photos, work files or similar data on a DVD or other media on a regular basis. Thereafter, if a virus attack, hardware failure, or simply human error destroy the Hard Disk Drive, Digital assets are protected.
If the Hard Disk Drive fails totally, it will mean a total loss of data. Sometimes there is a solution. If the Hard Disk Drive has a faulty electronic system, then the drive can still be saved by way of a replacement. A head crash can occur at the contact point between the heads and the magnetic surface, usually it only involves a small area on the Hard Disk Drive. A faulty read /write head will usually mean that a large amount of data can be recovered. Believe me if this happens recovering your emails, photos, work files or similar data is a very costly business.
Most other hardware faults are much easier to deal with, because the parts are usually more readily available and can be replaced + Data loss is not an issue.
Software Issues
The Windows Operating System is a very effective operating system if used properly. We recommend the use of both Microsoft Windows XP & Windows Vista.
However problems occur when software gets corrupted. When software becomes corrupt problems occur and this is when you begin to have issues with the Windows Operating System. Often it is not the fault of the Windows Operating System. For example, loading incompatible software and loading unsigned drivers can corrupt the Windows registry. We strongly advise against the use of Registry cleaners ! But the majority of problems arise from Viruses and Trojans that infect the Windows Operating System and corrupt system files.
Viruses
Viruses are a major problem, they are self replicating, after a virus infiltrates the system it infects a file, activates in it, performs a malicious action and the adds copies of itself to other files.
Trojans
Beware of Trojans, they are not viruses and they do not create copies of themselves, but they are equally dangerous to the Windows Operating System. Trojans block, modify and erase data, they disrupt the operation of computer networks, they can send and receive files, run them, display strange messages, download and install programs and restart the infected computer.
Guess what the implications are for the Windows Operating System ? That's it, files become corrupt and Windows crashes.
